Community Development in Yanfolila
The Community Development Programme in the rural Communes of Wassoulou Ballé and Gouanan in Yanfolila aims to
contributs to improving life for the communites there by helping them to reduce their level of vulnerability
and offering civic education to imprve local governance. The specific objectives are:
- To reduce illness linked to the way of life in communities by education concerning health and hygiene; à l'hygiène et à l'assainissement;
- To increase knowledge about reproductive health, family planning, the prevention of HIV/AIDS and child survival;
- To stregthen women's economic power by support for savings and credit initiatives;
- To reinforce decentralisation and community participation in local government throguh civic education.

These are the mothers with children who are thriving nd they are at the centre of activities to improve the well being of other children in the community throguh a programme of nutrition and education that measures each child's progress.
Savings and Credit
Women organise themselves in groups to save regularly. They take loans and reimburse them to finance their income generating activities.
