Technical and Financial Partners

The Methodist Relief and Development Fund (MRDF) started supporting J&D in 1999 with funding for institutionnel support during the organisation's early stages. Further funding for education and health activites that were part of the community development programme in Manankorto followed Manankoro and in 2007 MRDF and J&D signed a new agreement concerning a new community development programme in Yanfolila Yanfolila.

International Service (IS) has provided two development workers since 1999 to support capacity building and the development of the organisation as a whole. IS is also J&D's partner for the Comic Relief funded initiative supporting Micro-projects for young people in difficult circumstances.

The Mali Development Group (MDG) is a British NGO established in 2002 by friends of J&D in the UK who had been supporting the organisation's activities since the year 2000. It has supported a range of diverse initiatives, including funding motorbikes for fieldworkers and grain grinding mills that are owned and managed by women's community associations in Manankoro. MDG financed the construction of new class rooms in the rural village school in Kouroulamini and established links between several schools in Bamako and schools in England. The organisation raises funds through membership subscriptions and gifts and activites which include sponsored events, diverse sales and the production of greetings cards from drawings created by children in Mali. They also apply for project funding from UK based organisations, network with other UK NGOs and work to inform British people about life in Mali. They are also the sole funders of the Reproductive Health programme

DVV International (DVV) is a German organisation with a particular interest in literacy and adult education. Since 2001 it has supported the West African network of Reflect Practitioners (now Pamoja West Africa)and also initiatives in Manankoro (the production of a community newspaper and developing ressources for civic education). DVV was the first partner to provide finacial support for setting up J&D's Capacity Building Unit in 2006.

The Stromme Foundation (Stromme) is a Norwegian NGO working in West Africa. Since 2002 it has funded J&D's education and micro-finance initiatives in Manankoro,  its Preschool Education Programme in Bamako and the programme Saving For Change based in Garalo.

Action Aid International (AAI) has its headquarters in South Africa. J&D has worked with the International Education Unit (IEU) in London since 1998 to promote the vision of a fairer world through the use of the Reflect approach in francophone Africa by providing praticitioners with training and information. In 2007 both the IEU and ActionAid Senegal supported activities coordinated by Pamoja West Africa.

Oxfam GB (OGB) With OGB as intermediary J&D received Comic Relief funding for the On The Line initiative, developped to celebrate the millenium. In Novembre 2000 a meeting in Bamako was organised to bring together children in difficult circumstances from Ghana, Mali, Togo and Burkina Faso. The Micro-projets Programme is an ongoing initiative that grew out of this meeting. More recently (2006 and 2007) the OGB Bamako office has supported activities coordinated by Pamoja West Africa.

Plan International Mali (Plan) In December 2007 J&D started to implement a new literacy programme in Plan's zones of intervention, using the Reflect approach.

UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learningin 2007 J&D worked with (UIL) to organise workshops in Mali in the context of LIFE and a sub regional discussion on the links between formal and non fromal education and the prevention of HIV/AIDS.

Since 2004 some Malian Sponsors have assisted a number of children to attend nursery schools suported by the Preschool Education Programme
